Aerosmith to bow out with 2017 farewell tour?

Los Angeles - Aerosmith could be heading out on a farewell tour in 2017.

Frontman Steven Tyler has talked about plans to either do a final tour with his band - which also includes Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford - or make an album, both of which he's "excited about" as he's "grateful" for still being able to perform with the original members of the group.

The 68-year-old rocker told Rolling Stone: "I'm doing 30 [solo] shows from May until August. And then in 2017 we go out with Aerosmith. We're probably doing a farewell tour. Look, there's two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I'm grateful for that. Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I'm just excited about it."

Guitarist Brad, also thinks it would be a good idea to bow out with one last tour and put the band "to bed gracefully".

He previously said: "We are actually talking about that - about actually putting together a sort of wind-down tour which we would call the 'Farewell Tour'.

"I guess it's just because of our age. You know, something's gonna happen. It's just inevitable that somebody's not gonna be able to do it anymore. So it would be very nice to take a nice long bow and say thank you and ... put it to bed kind of gracefully."

The Walk This Way hitmakers are currently on hiatus while Tyler is gearing up to release his debut solo country LP and guitarist Joe Perry is busy working on his side-project, The Hollywood Vampires - also comprised of actor Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan - who have just announced their first tour, which kicks off next month.
