Angus & Julia Stone announce first tour to South Africa

Cape Town - Multi-platinum selling Australian duo Angus & Julia Stone announce their first tour to South Africa with dates in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban at the end of January 2018. Tickets go on sale at 09:00 on Thursday, 30 November.

Cape Town fans will be the first to see Angus & Julia Stone live in the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on Thursday 25 January.

Thereafter Jo’burg will look forward to their favourite Gourmet Food And Music Festival hosting Angus & Julia Stone at the 7th annual Parklife Festival at Marks Park in Emmarentia on Saturday 27 January.

Concluding the tour with a performance set in the oldest surviving botanic garden on the African continent, Angus & Julia Stone will take to the stage in Durban for the 2nd annual Parklife Festival at the Durban Botanic Gardens on Sunday, 28 January. Parklife Festival returns to Durban following the success of the inaugural event drawing thousands of Durbanites to the Gourmet Food And Music Festival in June of this year.

Alice Phoebe Lou is also the first of many SA acts to be announced for the Parklife Festival line-up and makes her debut at Parklife in Johannesburg and Durban in January.

Celebrating a career that spans over 10 years, Angus & Julia Stone have released countless hits since first performing together in 2006. South African fans can finally look forward to seeing their favourite songs performed live and with a selection of timeless gems such as Big Jet Plane, Just a Boy, Heart Beats Slow, A Heartbreak, Mango Tree, and Aeroplane, each show promises to be nothing less than spectacular.

Angus & Julia Stone will also perform songs from their brand new and 4th studio album, Snow, which was released on September 15. The album features 12 glorious tracks penned by Angus and Julia together and is the next chapter in an immensely successful career. SNOW already accounts for over half a million album sales in Australia alone and was produced, and largely engineered, by the Sydney-born siblings themselves.

"It was quite magical because Angus and I have never spent that much time together, just the two of us," says Julia. "There's always at least an engineer or tour manager but the last phase of writing and recording was just eight weeks of him and me and the quiet of the land. It was a beautiful time."

The duo also recently revealed the exquisite road trip music video for their latest single, Chateau, which can be viewed here:

The narrative for the Chateau music video is played out by leading Australian actors Courtney Eaton, who starred most recently in Mad Max Fury Road, and Dacre Montgomery, who featured in Power Rangers and is the new lead in Stranger Things season 2.

"It’s exciting to share new music with people for sure... but to be honest, it's not why I got into writing music," says Angus. "For me it's always just been an expression... but it’s a great feeling if people are digging it”.
