Cape Town scores a free Fokof show

Cape Town – The Mother City has been gifted with a free show from Fokofpolisiekar after the band reached the R700k mark in their Thundafund crowdfunding campaign.

The local rockers reached their R500k target in just 9 days in March and promised Cape Town a free show if they reached the next benchmark.

The campaign was started to raise funds to make the first full-length Fokofpolisiekar album in 11 years.

The free show will take place at Mercury Live in Cape Town on Thursday, 25 May.

The doors will open at 19:00 and will work on a first-come first-served basis as the venue’s capacity does not allow for more than 400 people. The performance will kick off at 21:00.

Gauteng could be next!

Now the boys have also given Gauteng the opportunity to get a free show if they hit R800k.

There are still plenty more cool things to pledge for on the band’s crowdfunding page, including goodies like Fokofpolisiekar watches, Brand Suid-Afrika and Antibiotika vinyl combos, merchandise bundles, a Fokof Lager light box and Johnny de Ridder’s American Mustang Fender (1978) guitar to the value of R25 000.

The band is currently in studio working on their new album.
