Cape Town - It’s often said some of the best artworks are born as a result of heartbreak and pain, and music from the likes of Adele, Sam Smith and Sjava prove that.

Starboy hitmaker The Weeknd is no exception – once again pouring out his broken heart on an unexpected six-track album, My Dear Melancholy.

According to Cosmopolitan, the crooner touches on his failed relationship with model Bella Hadid and his “tormented soul”.

But what stands out is a track called Call Out My Name, which is reportedly about another ex, Selena Gomez. The two broke up in October last year after 10 months together.

On the track he talks about how he was there for her at her lowest point, when she had a kidney transplant, and he even alludes to be willing to give her his own kidney: “I almost cut a piece of myself for your life”.

Yikes! The Weeknd seems pretty heartbroken.
