Ed Sheeran set to become a billionaire?

Cape Town - Chart-topping star Ed Sheeran is poised to become a billionaire before he turns 30, according to an industry expert.

The British songwriter's Divide tour – which was recently in South Africa for several sold-out shows - has banked well over £493m and continues to amass more dough all around the world.

In an article featured in UK tabloid, The Sun, industry expert Mark Borkowski said: "The man who was busking on the streets is now a man who is going to be a billionaire. Above all, this shows just how potent live music is nowadays."

A few weeks ago it was announced that Ed - who is still two years away from his thirtieth birthday – has doubled his wealth and is the seventeenth wealthiest musician in the UK and Ireland.
