Joseph Shabalala died on Tuesday, 11 February 2020, in Pretoria and in his memory Drum Magazine has looked back at his incredible life.
Joseph Shabalala started his career in music at just 17-year-old and never looked back.
The Ladysmith-born artist started his group Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1958 and was the leader until his retirement in 2015.
In celebration of his life, Drum has compiled 9 iconic pictures of him performing on stages across the world.
