Cape Town - It’s been a while since we’ve heard any music from Durban hip-hop group Dreamteam so when they recently announced their comeback something, or rather someone, was missing.

A few weeks ago the group took to Instagram to reveal they’d be dropping new music soon, but all their posts excluded Mthokozisi “Dash” Mkhathini.

Lusaso “Saso” Ngcobo and Trevor “Trey” Sineke confirmed during an interview on Touch HD that Dash had left due to “another engagement”.

“He’s got another engagement . . . OK, on the real, the boy is no longer with us. He’s decided to go and pursue his own thing, he’s our friend he’s our brother. . . I think we’ve all grown so it was a conversation we had at the beginning of the year and decided to follow through,” the duo said.

Although they’re one member down Saso and Trey assured fans they are bigger and better than before.

“We’ve been making a lot of music. You guys just need to be prepared. Positive vibes only . . . new energy, new music. We’re just coming with a lot of content, you guys just need to be prepared for us,” they said.

Here are some pictures of the new Dreamteam:
