Cape Town - High in the Italian Dolomites, musicians in an igloo concert hall perform on instruments sculpted out of ice... in minus 12 degrees.
According to AFP, the concert takes place in a custom-built igloo at the Passo Paradiso, which is a winter sports station, at an altitude of 2,600 metres.
The ice instruments require amplification, and technicians battle constantly to keep the sound coming in the adverse conditions. As the audience enters the igloo the space begins to warm up, and the instruments begin to melt, forcing the musicians to constantly re-tune.
This isn't the only icy music festival where musicians play frozen instruments, there's also one in Norway and it's just amazing.
