Ja Rule secures a win in Fyre Fest lawsuit

Cape Town - According to the New York Daily News, Ja Rule and Fyre Fest chief marketing officer Grant Margolin were cleared of charges on Wednesday.

The lawsuit alleged Ja Rule and chief marketing officer Grant Margolin promoted the event knowing it was a scam.

The event - that took place on an island - was a colossal failure and resulted in lawsuits, documentaries and headlines all around the world.

The judge said in his ruling: "There is no assertion that the Festival when first conceived or introduced to the public was intended not to go forward or that defendants intended not to perform by organising the advertised amenities and accommodation,".

In the recent past, Ja Rule also revealed plans for another attempt at creating an "iconic" festival despite the disaster his first attempt turned into.
