Johannesburg - American pop star singer Katy Perry has been rated as the highest paid performing female musician in the world for 2018, according to Forbes.
The Roar hit maker has without a doubt outdone herself over the recent years in the music industry especially with her latest album, Witness in which she accumulated a whopping $83 million (R1,16 billion), making her top the highest-paid women in music list for 2018.
Most of the total earnings that Katy gathered came from her 80-day Witness: The tour shows which ran from June 2017 to June 2018.
Many of her fans took to Twitter to congratulate her on the achievement,
“Katy Perry is the world’s Highest Paid Woman in Music of 2018. She stays winning,” one tweep wrote.
Although the 34-year-old musician racked in the most money for the year it was a pretty close call between herself and Taylor Swift, who claimed the second spot over the same period with a total of $80 million (R1.1 billion).
Taylor was then followed by music mogul and legend Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, who cashed in on $60 million (R839 million) during her OTR II tour with husband Jay Z.
