Katy Perry reveals release date of fifth album and fans speculate Taylor Swift could feature on the first single

It's been three years since Katy Perry released her Witness album, and now, with the help of Amazon's Alexa, the singer has finally revealed when she will be dropping her next one. 

The album will be the singer's fifth, garnering the name #KP5 on social media. 

In a clip posted to Twitter by a Katy Perry fan page, Alexa is asked when the singer's new album will debut, to which the digital assistant responds: "Katy asked me to let you know that her new album will be released on August 14th."

According to Billboard, they were able to confirm the news with Capitol Records. 

Daisies, the first single from the upcoming album, will be released on Friday, 15 May and has many speculating that it could feature Taylor Swift. This after Taylor posted a picture on Instagram of herself wearing a jersey with daisies on it not long after Katy shared the news about the single.
