Kim Kardashian rushes to Kanye West’s defence after he seemingly supports R Kelly

Cape Town - Kanye West seemingly spoke about R Kelly and Michael Jackson in one of his new Sunday services in which he speaks to a crowd while a gospel choir plays behind him.

In a livestream of the session - obtained by TMZ - Kanye said: "They want art from the artist. But anytime they do anything erratic, they just going (to) pull up the full documentaries on him. And then, they going (to) come with the Michael documentary. We can enjoy all their music all we want."

The rapper’s words have raised the ire of the internet who think his sentiments refer to a fresh slew of sexual assault allegations pertaining to R Kelly as well as an upcoming documentary about Michael Jackson

In the wake of the Sunday service, Kim Kardashian has taken to Twitter to defend her husband and clarify his remarks. In a tweet Kim said: “I’m going to nip this in the bud right now. Kanye was speaking about his own experience of everyone quick to say they are cancelling him because of differences in opinion and not being perfect.”

She added: “The analogies were in context to his own experiences, not defending anyone else.”

It is worth noting that Kanye never says R Kelly’s name in the video.

In a much talked about Lifetime documentary series titled, Surviving R. Kelly, the 52-year-old singer is accused of sexually assaulting underage women along with a series of other criminal offences.
