Lauren Jauregui on being a LGBT activist through her music : 'I think it's kind of dangerous not to be involved'

Cape Town -  Former Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui recently told Gay Times that she believes it's more important than ever for celebrities to fight for what they believe in, in terms of LGBT rights.

"I think it's a mistake to separate being a human who lives in the country that I live in from being an artist. I think it's even more important for me to be political because I have a voice that speaks to people, sometimes beyond even what, politics can do.

"I think it's kind of dangerous not to be involved," she continued.

The 22-year-old also hinted in the interview that she will release her first solo album soon.

Last year in July Lauren teamed up with fellow pop singer Halsey for a love song, titled Strangers, that spoke about a LGBT relationship.
