Cape Town - Celebrity attorney Michael Avenatti said on Monday that R&B singer R.Kelly paid $2 million to keep the alleged victim in a child pornography case off the witness stand during his 2008 trial that ended with his acquitted of all charges.
Last week the beleaguered musician was arrested.
The arrest took place in Chicago R. Kelly is expected to return to New York for trial according to Variety.
Assistant United States attorney in the Northern District of Illinois, Joseph D. Fitzpatrick told The New York Times that the artist was arrested on a 13-count federal indictment.
Earlier this year in February, Michael claimed that his team discovered a graphic tape allegedly of R. Kelly engaging in lewd acts with alleged victims.
The American singer has - in the face of many, many accusations – maintained his innocence.
