Cape Town – Ariana Grande is channelling the trials and tribulations of previous relationships into new music and people are loving it.
The 25-year-old released her first single shortly after announcing her new album and title track – Thank U, Next – on Saturday night, E! News reports.
According to Mirror, Ariana seems to be taking a walk down memory lane in the song by referring to four of her previous relationships, namely: Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, the late Mac Miller, and her most recent ex-fiancé Pete Davidson.
“Thought I'd end up with Sean / But he wasn't a match / Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” Ariana sings in the first verse.
She continues: “Even almost got married / And for Pete, I'm so thankful / Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / 'Cause he was an angel.”
Ariana further reveals what she has learned from these relationships singing: “Now, I'm so amazing”.
