As many countries around the world encourage people to stay home during the coronavirus pandemic, experts have noted a decline in air pollution. Proving the massive impact humans have on the health of our planet.
SA electronic band, GoodLuck, have addressed this in their new song, What Next, forcing us to "consider what our future will look like if we continue on the same path of disregard for the environment," a press statement reads.
"We cannot go back to treating the world the way we did before this pandemic. We have to change the way we live and consume, or the future isn't going to look bright for any of us. That's the message we want 'What Next' to drive home," lead vocalist, Jules, said.
While she already started writing the song in 2017, it was not until the national lockdown that Jules was able to finish it. "With the feelings I've been having in the face of this pandemic, I found the words to finish the song. It felt like it was meant to be released now," she added.
What Next was performed for the first time during GoodLuck's Global Citizen #TogetherAtHome set.
The song is now available for download, and the band have committed to donating 50% of profits earned from the track to the World Land Trust which works to restore and preserve threatened habitats.
