Local band Jackal & the Wind get deep about rivers

Cape Town – It’s almost time to chill next to a river while listening to some awesome music at this year’s River Republic 2017.

Set at the same river as Up the Creek, on the plush lawns next to a beautiful creek, this new little festival embodies that pina-colada-hidden-paradise-kind-of-awesome-party that we all dream of.

The festival is taking place from 24-26 November at Round the Bend Lodge, Breede River, Swellendam.

And to get everyone in the mood we cornered Indie folk band Jackal & the Wind, who will be performing at the festival, to ask them some river themed questions.

Check it out below:

What is your favourite river in SA and why?

The Breede. One of our first festivals was River Republic – it gives the Breede an unfair advantage.

What’s the one thing you’ll be taking with you to the river and why?

Chris likes to take his lifesaving jacket with. We don’t know why – although we haven’t seen him in the water without it, so one must wonder.

What’s the best tune to listen to while floating on a river?

The Clapping Song by the Belle Stars (see what we did there? ?? #clapbackchallenge)

What’s your best memory that involves a river?

Saturday at Up the Creek 2017.

If you had to write a song about a river, what would you call it?

Float me a Lilo.
