Local musos describe blues and rock in just 3 words ahead of Big Blues Meets Rock 2016

Cape Town – It’s almost time for The Big Blues Meets Rock Festival 2016 at Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville.

And ahead of the festival taking place this weekend, Saturday 9 April, a few of the artists set to perform took the time to describe the terms Blues and Rock.

Here is what they had to say:

Describe ROCK in three words:

Simon Orange, Blues Broers: An old boxer.
Riaan Smit, Crimson House: Earth shattering goodness.
Kyle Gray, The Rockerfellas: Unleash the Beast!

Describe BLUES in three words:

Simon Orange, Blues Broers: Warm evening music.
Riaan Smit, Crimson House: Soul made Sound.
Kyle Gray, The Rockerfellas: Souls communicated gift.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the official (Cape Town) launch of Dan Patlansky's brand new album, Introvertigo.

Patlansky says of the new album: "Fans can expect a unique brand of Blues Rock born out of guitar playing whilst striving for strong songwriting. I am very excited and proud of this album, and honestly feel this is my best release to date."
