New local music you should probably get to know now



Cape Town – Local is truly lekker... even the SABC agrees!

On Wednesday the SABC announced that it will play 90% local music across its 18 radio stations from today. 

So in light of this recent announcement, we bring you the latest local music you might be hearing on the radio soon.

Chambers – Love Spell
Jacques Moolman, frontman of the Sama award-winning rock band Shadowclub, has announced Love Spell, the brand new single by Chambers, his new solo project, on Tuesday. Chamber’s much-anticipated eight track debut EP Chambers Deluxe EP is set for release on 20 May 2016.

Yesterday’s Pupil – Lily
A brand new single and music video from Yesterday’s Pupil, the solo project of well-known musician and producer Peach van Pletzen, dropped on Tuesday. The song, entitled Lily, was written in Amsterdam in April 2015.


Monark – Soldier
The Sama nominated band dropped a new single and video at the end of April. The song is called Soldier and Monark describes the video as a collection of imagery that shows how war impacts various people’s lives whilst simultaneously showing how every person’s character is composed of different facets.

We Are Charlie - Let’s Stare At The Sun
Pretoria outfit We Are Charlie dropped a brand new single on Monday, Let’s Stare At The Sun. This is the debut release from their brand new EP, The Sad Kind Of Happy.


Cassper Nyovest – War Ready
Cassper dropped this video last week and dedicated it to all those killed, arrested and tortured in the 1976 Soweto Uprising.
