Cape Town – The day has finally arrived to take the trek to Northam, if you haven’t already that is.
While Oppikoppi officially kicks off today, the party has already started. Koppi-goers wanting to get a good camping spot or just a head start with the party vibes arrived at Northam on Thursday already.

The Oppikoppi App:
If you haven't yet downloaded the app, then do it now while you have cell reception and data! With artist line-ups, stage schedules and more this app will make your festival experience so much better.
3 things not to be missed at the festival:
1) The music
Planning, planning and more planning! That is the only way you will get to see all the bands you want to see. With so many artists playing, it will be a good thing to check out the schedule beforehand. You can do that here. Must see acts include international acts August Burns Red, Yelawolf and KONGOS. Local must see acts include ANG, Satanic Dagga Orgy, Grassy Spark, Sketchy Bongo, Petite Noir, Adelle Nqeto and Urban Village Music.
2) The Northam se Uitgewasde seunskoor vir mans en vrouens
After the untamed success of inaugural Northam se Uitgewasde Seunskoor vir Mans en Vrouens Oppikoppi brings you the continuation.
With the gravitas and prestige of the choir growing, it is time to perk up your ears if you want to be part of movement. 2016 sees Oppikoppi building on the values of tolerance, abundance, joy, rock ‘n roll, beer and respect. Oppikoppi is introducing a core choir this year. The core choir of 20 members will be adding 10 vagabonds from the fields of Oppikoppi to their ranks and they will be featuring during the performances of Bittereinder and Academie over the weekend.
The choir selection team will also be moving around the campsite to sign up and sing down prospective partners. So be on the lookout!
3) The Naked Run
The OppiKoppi 1000 Naked Run Dash has become an annual institution bursting (sic) from its collective seams. 2016 will see renewed energy pumped into the marathon. Expect more prizes, more categories and actual co-ordination. Go big or go small, but don’t go home. You can register at the festival campsite.
Where: Scouts Tower
When: 12:00 Saturday afternoon
