Police suspect suicide in Chris Cornell death - Reports

Cape Town – According to a report by gossip website TMZ, the police suspect that suicide might be the cause of Chris Cornell’s death.

The 52-year-old was reportedly found by a family friend in the bathroom of his hotel room with a band around his neck. These reports have not been confirmed.

AP reported that Cornell died on Wednesday night after he performed with his band Soundgarden in Detroit. 

A representative called the death "sudden and unexpected" and said his wife and family were shocked by it. The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.
