Johannesburg - Don Russell, musician R Kelly’s manager, is being investigated by the police after he allegedly threatened the parents of one of the singer’s alleged sexual assault victims, Jocelyn Savage.

According to police reports received by The Blast, Jocelyn’s father Timothy Savage called the police on 3 January and claimed he was receiving threatening messages from Don on the morning of Lifetime’s Surviving R Kelly documentary premiere.

Police also reported that while at Timothy’s residence, Don was put on loudspeaker when he called Timothy. According to police reports, Don said that if Timothy continued to support the docu-series then R Kelly and himself “would be forced to provide information disproving Timothy”.

Don continued to say the information they had on Timothy would “ruin him, his reputation, business and family because it would show him a liar”.

The disagreement started in July 2017 when Jocelyn’s family accused the singer of holding their daughter as a sex cult slave. TMZ reported that R Kelly denied all allegations and also released a video of Jocelyn where she says she is fine and happy where she is.

“I just want to say that I am in a happy place in my life and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that,” Jocelyn said in the video.

According to Buzzfeed News, Jocelyn was being held against her will with other women at R Kelly’s house. The Jocelyn’s parents believe she’d been brainwashed. Taking to Instagram, Timothy pleaded with their daughter to call them.
