According to CNN, the rapper Pop Smoke was killed during a home invasion on Wednesday.
The news of the artist's death was confirmed via a police official and federal law enforcement.
Pop Smoke – real name Bashar Barakah Jackson – was 20 years old and released a critically acclaimed mixtape only last week. The mixtape is titled Meet the Woo 2.
One of the artist's most popular songs is titled Dior, and it currently has over 21 million views. Pop Smoke was a big fashion fan and attended Paris Fashion Week in January and sat in the front row at Louis Vuitton's Menswear Fall/Winter 2020-2021 show.

Police held a press conference about the home invasion but did not release the rapper's name at that time.
During the press conference, it emerged that police were called to the home, and once they were inside, they found a man who had been shot. He was then transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where he was pronounced dead hours later.
It is unclear at this point who owns the house where Pop Smoke was shot.
No arrests have been made at this time.
