The 1975’s new video pays homage to this classic concert film and it's trippy

Cape Town - The 1975’s dreamlike video for single It’s Not Living (If It’s Not with You) was released on Monday.

In the Warren Fun helmed clip, the British band pay homage to veteran musicians, Talking Heads’ concert flick titled Stop Making Sense. The movie which they reference was directed by the much-revered filmmaker Jonathan Demme.

In an interview with Pitchfork, lead singer Matt Healy spoke about why the song tells the story of a character named Danny and drug use explaining, “I think I’m trying to consciously hide it behind being somebody else, writing about their struggle and their strife…”

The surreal video follows the release of The 1975’s album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships which came out on Friday.
