The Parlotones to Johnny Clegg: Thank you for your amazing songs

Cape Town – Nearly forty years after he began one of music’s most remarkable careers, Johnny Clegg is currently on his final World Tour, titled The Final Journey.

After an overwhelming response to his tour, he decided to add one more Johannesburg show to compensate for disappointed fans that were not able to get their hands on tickets before they sold out.

The extra show will be taking place in Johannesburg at The Ticketpro Dome on Saturday 11 November. This show will be all kinds of special as he will be sharing the stage with a number of top local artists such as Prime Circle, The Parlotones, Soweto Gospel Choir, DJ Kent and more.

Ahead of this special show, we asked The Parltones about Johhny’s impact on them.

Check it out below:

What’s your favourite Johnny Clegg song?
Hard to choose one, it's a close tie between Scatterlings of Africa and Spirit Of The Great Heart.

What has been his influence on you musically?
He successfully combines authentic originality with pop sensibility and commercial appeal. He is also the ultimate performer; combining singing, dance, expression, guitar and storytelling - the consummate frontman.

If you could say one thing to Johnny, what would it be?
Thank you for your amazing songs, your story and the example of what it means to be a good sincere human being.
