Cape Town – Parasite, The Joker, Brad Pitt - these are all names and titles that one would readily associate with The Oscars 2020. But one surprise performance changed all that on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
Rap legend Eminem broke through the stage to give a rousing rendition of his hit song, Lose Yourself and it was confusingly enthralling.

The song was released on 28 October 2002, as the lead single from the soundtrack of 8 Mile, so it makes total sense that viewers in the crowd and at home were not expecting to hear it on the big night 18 years later.
Explaining the moment on his Twitter account, the artist – whose real name is Marshall Mathers – said (referencing the first line of the song): "Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity... Thanks for having me @The Academy."
He added: "Sorry, it took me 18 years to get here." He then included the clip where the song won at The Oscars all those years ago when he did not attend the ceremony.
