Cape Town - At the age of 31 music mogul, style icon and make-up entrepreneur Rihanna has been listed as the world’s richest female musician by Forbes after making $600 million (R8 billion) fortune.

This comes after the artist was reportedly almost bankrupt just 10 years earlier.

At the end of 2009, the now make-up mogul claimed she was bankrupt after her former accountant after she claimed he advised her to make a string of bad financial decisions which almost saw her go broke, after losing the star $9 million (R133 million) in one year according to Daily Mail.

In 2014 she managed to win a court case against her former accountant Peter Gounis of Berdon and was awarded a $10 million (R147 million) settlement.

10 years after she was left with only $2 million (R29 million) in her account, Rihanna bounced back harder than ever and has subsequently become the wealthiest female musician in the world.

This fortune was not only accumulated through her music career but also through her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and recently established fashion house Fenty Mansion.

According to Forbes the multi-hyphenate acquired much of her wealth through her partnership with French luxury conglomerate LVMH which she launched her beauty cosmetics line with in 2017.

Rihanna (pronounced as Ri-Ann-ah and not Ri-Ah-nah, as she recently clarified) will soon be named the first black woman in charge of an incredible fashion luxury house. This announcement comes after rapper Jay Z was recently listed as the first hip-hop artist billionaire

Congratulations to the Anti hit maker – she definitely didn’t mince her words when she said, "You see me I be work, work, work, work, work, work."
