WATCH: BTS smashed Taylor Swift‘s record for most-watched video over 24 hours on YouTube

Cape Town – K-pop band BTS have just made history in epic fashion.

The band broke a YouTube record that was set back in 2017 by Taylor Swift with her single Look What You Made Me Do which racked up 43.2 million views in one day/24 hours.

The group’s video for their energetic single titled Idol topped the pop star’s hit, by gaining over 45 million views in its first 24 hours on the streaming service.

At the time of writing the video is now at over 99 million views.

In May, BTS have become the first K-Pop group to rise to the top of the US album charts, epitomising the genre's growing global appeal.
