WATCH: Here’s why Lil Wayne’s planned collab with Drake isn’t on his new album

Cape Town – American rapper Lil Wayne finally dropped his new album Tha Carter V last week after years and years of legal limbo delaying its release.

Response to the album has been positive but to a lot of fans, there has been one glaring omission, a collaboration with Lil Wayne’s long-time musical co-creator Drake.

In a recent interview with journalist Elliott Wilson in New Orleans the rapper addressed why Drake didn’t make it on the album saying that it was planned but that there were clearance issues.

Adding: “A few of the singles that [Drake and I] released throughout the years—those were Carter V songs,” he then listed Believe Me as an example.

The interview took place on the latest instalment of Wilson’s CRWN interview series and it was live streamed on Tidal.
