WATCH: Youngsta’s Ballantine’s X Boiler Room set

Cape Town - Boiler Room and Ballantine’s launched the True Music Africa event in November, a four-city tour that will take in exciting underground music scenes from countries as diverse as South Africa and Kenya.

The tour kicked off in Cape Town on 23 November with a line-up that featured the most pivotal hip hop artists involved in the local music scene before moving on to Cameroon, Nairobi and finally Jozi. 

It will all culminate in July when Johannesburg will play host to the True Music Forum, a space for the international music community to learn, exchange and build new ideas through panel discussions and workshops. 

The Cape Town show featured some of the country’s most well-respected original self-starters, including K$, Dope Saint Jude, Youngsta CPT, Aux Womdantso and DJ Lyle.
