We had a short and cheeky chat with the lead singer of Crash Test Dummies

Cape Town - Canadian band Crash Test Dummies will be touring South Africa later this month.

The band will be performing two shows, one in Cape Town and one in Pretoria. The tour will be led by Brad Roberts, the unique bass-baritone lead singer of the group.

Channel24 had a short and cheeky chat with Brad to find out more about their trip.

SEE THE CHAT HERE:

Brad said that coming to SA was an obvious choice: "Its South Africa, man! Everybody wants to go there!"

Will the musos put an emphasize on the classic songs that the band is known for like Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm and Superman's Song or more modern material?: "Both of course, you big silly! How could we not do both?"

What inspires Brad to write both as a solo artist and as part of the Crash Test Dummies? He says: "If I waited around for inspiration, I’d be in a sorry state. Writing is work; one sits down, and one gets it done. On a bad day, I might quit early; on a good day, I might write more than I planned. Inspiration happens only after a lot of work - at least, for me."

Brad has no plans away from the stage in South Africa and don't ask him about it, rather just tell him what to do,as he explains: "This is a question I get repeatedly. You tell me - what ought I to do? I’d love to know. A healing session with a shaman?

HERE'S A VIDEO WITH MORE INSIGHT INTO BRAD'S CREATIVE PROCESS:
