We had our quickest quickie ever with DJ Euphonik

Cape Town - Following the success of his highly anticipated summer hit Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend, DJ Euphonik has released a hot new remix of dynamic South African newcomer, Nasty C’s, Hell Naw.

"The track is special because it enabled me to remix another artist’s music for the first time in five years," says Euphonik.

Euphonik’s remix of Hell Naw offers a fresh perspective on both the source material and the music genre for which it was created.

Nasty C’s thoughts? He’s all for it! "The remix is dope! Euphonik’s spin on Hell Naw takes it to the next level. I can’t wait for it to be on the airwaves."

The 19-year-old David Ngcobo, better known as Nasty C, is already making waves in the local music industry with his original sound and tongue-in-cheek attitude. The youngest recipient of the Best Newcomer Award at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards, Nasty C has collaborated with a number of well known South African artists, including AKA, Tumi, Cassper Nyovest and Anatii.

And thanks to the folks at Deezer SA you can listen to Hell Naw right here:

We got to ask DJ Euphonik a few quick questions about the song:

How did the remix of Hell Naw come about?
I liked the original song, so I wanted a version that could fit into my sets as I am not a hip hop DJ.

Are you a fan of Nasty C?
I’m a fan of good music.

If you could choose any song on the charts today to remix, which song would it be and why?
Runaway Love by myself and Donald as well as Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend ft. Mi Casa.

What are you currently working on?
New music and new projects.

You recently played in Zambia, what was that like?
It was amazing. What an amazing country.

Who are your 3 biggest musical influences?
Calvin Harris, The Spinners and Stimela.

Any advice for up and coming musicians trying to make it out there?
Even if you’re not signed to a label there is plenty of ways to get your music out there like YouTube, Sound Cloud and iTunes. Just don’t give up.
