A few weeks ago hip hop artist Emtee was accused on social media for smoking a bit too much. Move! caught up with him to find out how he felt about the matter and he said, “When I was in high school I didn’t smoke or drink. After high school and initiation school I made the decision to smoke because I could afford to.”
The father of one also said that when he smokes he isn’t encouraging young people to do what he does, for him it is more luxury than anything. The hip hop star says he encourages young people to make their own money and afford things, the same way his father taught him.
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH AKA
The 25-year old, who has his own Record Label, spoke quite highly of South African rapper AKA. “AKA is talented, an amazing writer and definitely someone to look up to. He was also one of the people who embraced me when I came into the industry. He mentors me here and there, calls to check up and motivates me,” said the rapper.
RESPONSIBLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Last year Emtee accidently posted a video of his privates on his Instagram story and it trended on social media. He says the incident taught him to be responsible on social media. “I am more cautious of what I post. Sometimes you need to go through something to learn something. I learnt that I don’t need to be online all the time or show emotion in my posts. I am a business man and my decision making is more mature,” he said.
