Cape Town - Hollywood will meet football in Russia as rumours swirl that actor Will Smith will be involved in the official anthem for the 2018 Fifa World Cup that begins next month.

Vibe is reporting the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is working on a song alongside Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istrefi, with DJ Diplo producing the track.

The song is expected to drop on Friday, 19 days before the tournament kicks off.

Will gave his 15.8 million Instagram followers a preview of what to expect with a pic captioned: “One Life to Live. Live it Up. #WorldCup.”

This isn’t the first time a celeb features on a World Cup song. Back in 2010 Shakira and Freshlyground teamed up for Waka Waka, the official anthem for the first World Cup to be held on African soil.

The official song for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil was We are One (Ole Ola) by Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte.
