Legendary musician Bebe Winans’ show that was set to take place in South Africa this month has been postponed due to the declaration of a national state of disaster by president Cyril Ramaphosa  following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Bebe’s Born for This: The Musical Experience show was to be held in Joburg on 20 March and Durban on 21 March.

"The decision to postpone the concert aligns with the directives announced by the Presidency in the interests of the health and safety of Bebe’s South African fans," read the statement.

The organisers have promised to announce the new dates in due course. Ticket holders are permitted to ask for a full refund or they can hold on to their ticket until the new dates are announced.

When Bebe announced his SA tour in January, he promised his fans that he won’t be coming alone. He also added that this was going to be his last SA tour.

"Must say that the talented Margaret Bell is coming and my baby sister Debbie Winans Lowe is coming with me as well. It’s been years and it’s my last trip my friends so come on I can say THANK YOU FOR THE YEARS OF LOVE!!! #SouthAfrica #Durbin #otherplaces #maybe [sic]"
