Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on Sunday, encouraging citizens to self-isolate and stay away from social gatherings of more than 100 people in one space, many events have been cancelled.
From sports games, church services and big concerts many have been postponed over the past few days.
In the gospel industry, the latest shows to be cancelled are the Joyous Celebration Easter concerts – which were scheduled to happen at Carnival City – as well as Rev Benjamin Dube’s Spirit of Praise tour.
Both groups made the announcement on social media.
In a statement on the official Joyous Celebration Instagram page, the group wrote: "We are sad to announce that MTN Joyous Celebration Easter tour has been ‘POSTPONED’ until further notice. More details to follow."
Rev Benjamin Dube announced that the Spirit of Praise Kimberley tour will be postponed to September, and that everyone who has purchased their ticket will gain access to that show in September.
He added that anyone who wishes to get a refund is more than welcome to do so at any Computicket, Shoprite or Checkers store.
