Gospel star Tasha Cobbs is coming to South Africa in April after cancelling two shows that were to take place in February.

The singer will be performing at the Sun Arena on 25 April for the Magic Music Sessions.

She issued a statement clearing the air about what had happened with the cancellation of the initial shows which were organised by Gospel Concert Events.

The organisers didn’t come forth with the reasons for the cancellation and only stated that it was 'due to unforeseen circumstances' and promised that they’re still in talks for the show to be in October this year.

In her own statement Tasha says that she had nothing to do with the cancellation of the two Johannesburg shows. The Gospel Concert Events organisers told her it was due to poor ticket sales.

"According to the promoters (Gospel Concert Events), ticket sales were very poor. They have stated that because of the poor sales they have chosen to make this decision. These cancellations were not of my choosing [sic]," read the statement.

She promised that cancellation will “in no way impact my appearance at Magic Music Sessions”. She will share the stage with gospel giants such as Dr. Tumi, Mahalia Buchanan, Sethu, Benjamin Dube Soweto Gospel Choir and Mohlaphuli Brothers.

“South Africa! I Love you and will see you SOOOOONNNN!!!!”
