Madonna: Boy Scouts should lift gay ban

New York - Wearing a replica of the organisation's uniform, Madonna called on the Boy Scouts to lift its ban on gays while also calling for a "revolution" to prevent discrimination and abuse of the gay community.

Speaking Saturday night at the GLAAD Media Awards, Madonna said the Boy Scouts should "change their stupid rules".

Later, she spoke about young people who commit suicide after suffering from bullying. Noting that she has teenage kids of her own, she said the situation is "an atrocity to me and I don't accept it".

She then called on the audience to join her in a "revolution" to change the world.

Madonna was on hand to give Anderson Cooper the organisation's "Vito Russo" award. Others honoured included director Brett Ratner and the TV series Smash.

I have nothing against gay people, but I think you should drop the political agenda and stick to doing what you do best - looking like an aged singer who doesn't know when to quit.

She probably did gay rights more harm than good...

She is merely a has been trying to remain relevant. Nothing more.

Funny that gays are banned from the scouts when you consider the movement was founded by a homosexual (Baden-Powell) and the cub scouts are based on the writings of another homosexual (Kipling). Seriously, you'd think the scouts would be a bit more gay friendly!
