Cape Town - Joost van der Westhuizen's estranged wife, Amor Vittone, collapsed on a flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town on Tuesday.
Nathan Adams of Eyewitness News told Channel24: "Amor collapsed on board a flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Her mother said she was struggling to breathe."
The flight landed in Cape Town earlier on Tuesday.
Vittone's mother reportedly told Eyewitness News that she would be spending the night in a hospital in Cape Town.
"Her mother didn't sound too panicked. She just said she [Amor's mother] has the kids with her," said Adams.
It is thought that Vittone possibly suffered a panic attack.
