Johannesburg - The author of an erotic novel whose interview got Metro FM's Touchdown crew kicked off air says she "feels bad" for the team who had the "courage" to have her on their show.

It appears the talk about masturbation, with Jade Zwane, the author of aDICKted, got too hot for the station management and they decided to call the crew to order.

Metro FM took the crew off air pending "internal processes", it said.

It is not clear when the Touchdown crew – T-Bo Touch, Refiloe Mpakanyane, and Joe Mann – will be back on air.

City Press contacted T-Bo Touch, who declined to comment and referred all enquiries to Metro FM spokesperson Happy Ngidi.

The team was 'not suspended'

Ngidi said the Touchdown trio would be off work while "internal processes" were ongoing. She denied that they had been suspended.

"Please note that team has not been suspended, but are merely not scheduled until we have gone through our internal processes and procedures."

Ngidi would not confirm how long the "internal processes" would take.

'I hope they get back on air '

Said Zwane on Twitter: "I feel bad for Touch and the crew. I hope they get back on air soon. I appreciate their courage to have had me on the show."

Asked if the talk was not too hot for the listeners, Jade said: "Not at all."

"My work is a new idea and makes many uncomfortable. But we can't not talk about sex. It’s the reason many marriages end and why people get sick."

Metro FM is not having a good week following yet another "internal process" being instituted against Unathi Msengana, who co-hosts the First Avenue breakfast show with Glen Lewis and Melanie Bala. In the letter, a disgruntled listener states that Msengana is rude and cuts callers off.

Said Metro FM in a press release: "Each and every listener of any of our shows … is respected and appreciated by the station, hence our stance."

The letter has been doing the rounds on social networks and has sparked the hashtag #Unathigate.

Why do some people take offence to words like penis, vagina, masturbation etc?

Did you listen to the interview Mark?

when management tell you to stop coming to work while they investigate the processes regarding your 'wrong doing', I thought that was called suspension.
