Gareth Cliff's speeding case postponed

Pretoria - 5FM DJ Gareth Cliff appeared in the Centurion Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for speeding, the National Prosecuting Authority said.

Regional spokesperson Medupi Simasiku said the case would continue in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on March 16.

"It was postponed because there is an inquiry into whether his driver's licence should be suspended or not."

Cliff is accused of travelling at 182km/h in a 120km/h zone on the R21 in Lyttelton, Pretoria, on Tuesday.

He was arrested after being caught by the high speed unit. He said he had been on his way home after filming Idols in Durban.

He faces charges of speeding and reckless or negligent driving.
