Isidingo star in abortion row

Cape Town - Meshack Mavuso, best known for his role as Vusi in local soapie Isidingo, has been caught in the middle of an abortion scandal, reports the Sunday World.

The television star, who is married to Neo Mavuso, is said to have impregnated his mistress Naledi Gcwabe and then encouraged her to have an abortion.

A friend of the couple told the Sunday World newspaper: "Meshack was so scared that his wife was going to find out about his cheating ways so he gave Naledi R1 500 to terminate the pregnancy."

Meshack's wife is said to have found out about the affair and started sending her text messages, e-mails and contacting her via  her Facebook inbox.

The newspaper added: "At some stage unknown people would phone Naledi and call her a slut and a marriage-wrecker. Due to this, Naledi was hospitalised in October and also two weeks ago because of stress."

Heated exchange

In a heated SMS exchange quoted by the newspaper between the two former secret lovers, Meshack accuses Naledi of lacking chastity.

"Those girls who are calling u are the wife's of all the man you fucking (sic)."

Naledi responded: "You're sick; you're the psycho...what men??? You're so shallow. Now coz I'm standing for myself, I'm a bitch; I'm sleeping with other men? Well sorry to burst your bubble."

Later Meshack's wife reportedly joined in on the exchanges: "Girls like you make me sick, may you burn in hell for eternity. I've been with my husband 17 years and you're nothing to change that, you're a shell garage to him that's all.

"Bitch if you're still with my husband I swear I’m going to do something you will regret. This is a warning; I don't want to make promises. Leave my husband alone."
