Sun City - Miss South Africa 2012 Marilyn Ramos says she plans to help forge better relations between the country’s youth and elderly as “the youth have a lot to learn from the elderly”.

"I feel that the youth has a lot to learn from the elderly, and the seniors deserve the affection, compassion and respect of the youth," Ramos, from Pretoria, said.
"I intend to encourage young people to volunteer at old-age homes. I will achieve this by hosting workshops, motivational speeches and charity events.
"I will encourage the youth to visit retirement homes and hospice centres across the country."
The 21-year-old is an interior architecture student at Inscape Design College in Pretoria.
Stacey Webb, a 23-year-old law student from the Western Cape was named first princess while Pearle Nxele was crowned second princess.
The Miss Congeniality prize was awarded to the Western Cape's 19-year-old Danelle De Wet.
The show hosted by former Miss South Africa Jo-Ann Strauss, TV presenter Bridget Masinga Khanti and Channel O video jockey Lungile Radu.
Miss South Africa and principal judge Sonia Raciti-Oshry, Cape Talk and Talk Radio 702 talk show host Kieno Kammies, Metro FM sports anchor and TV presenter Robert Marawa, radio presenter Anele Mdoda and actress Sonia Sedibe were the judges.
