Johannesburg – DJ and television presenter Sasha Martinengo announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he will be leaving radio station 5FM at the end of March.
Martinengo, who joined 5FM in 1994, tweeted the following: "Wow, I am overwhelmed by the support. Thank you so much. It is true. I will be leaving 5fm at the end of March."
He also tweeted: "I will still be on Supersport for Absolute F1."
Good luck
Martinenego currently hosts the weekday 09:00-12:00 show, celebrated his 5 000th show on radio in November last year.
Twitter has since been abuzz with people sending messages of good luck and paying tribute to the iconic radio DJ.
Rock FM presenter Sergio De Oliveira tweeted: "so sad to hear about you leaving 5FM, I am a really big fan of your work, all the best in this new chapter of your life :)"
He also announced plans to continue his career as a writer for Prestige Magazine, F1Racing, The Cape Times and The Star.
