Sheriff may attach Zola's items - report

Johannesburg - Household items of kwaito star and television personality Bonginkosi "Zola 7" Dlamini might be attached and auctioned after he failed to pay his former domestic worker for unfair dismissal, the Sunday World reported.

Edith Raditlhalo worked for Zola for a month but received no pay and was fired, the newspaper reported.

She won her case against the singer at the Council for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in August 2009. This was after Zola ignored the CCMA's summons to attend the hearing.

He was ordered to pay Raditlhalo R6 000 as compensation for unfair dismissal. The amount was equivalent to a two-month salary.

Raditlhalo said Zola employed her as a general worker in 2009. Zola told the newspaper he fired Raditlhalo because she was not hired by him, but by his personal assistant.

"I didn't know that Raditlhalo took the matter to the CCMA because I didn't receive anything from them," he was quoted as saying.
