Durban - Petrolheads cheered to the sound of engines revving as the second Top Gear Festival hit Durban’s streets and Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, reported the Sunday Times newspaper.

Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May touched down in the city this week, while former Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen and the enigmatic white-clad driver The Stig entertained spectators along the new 2.8km street circuit on Saturday.

Despite being known for his flippant comments and controversial opinions, Clarkson appeared excited to be back in the city.

He tweeted a picture of the stadium stating “The greatest stadium in the world. And our home for the next five days.”

Enjoyed every second of it. Looking forward to next year

What a waste of money. If I wanted to watch snippets of Topgear I could have stayed at home and watch all the repeat episodes on TV

Last year's stadium show was beyond fantastic, this year's was plain boring. It was as if whoever forgot to prepare an actual show & they simply slapped some thing together to shut everyone up.

stop complaining. just be proud that our stadium is the best in the world

Is the article about the Top Gear Festival or about the Moses Mabhida Stadium? But have it your way... we have a very pretty stadium (which costs Durban ratepayers millions per year) but the show still sucked! Happy?

Truly a waste of my money. Expected some Top class service for the Ultimate tickets we had!! Stadium show was entertaining for me, but then again I wasn't there last year.
