Top Gear comes to Durban

Durban - Petrolheads cheered to the sound of engines revving as the second Top Gear Festival hit Durban’s streets and Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, reported the Sunday Times newspaper.

Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May touched down in the city this week, while former Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen and the enigmatic white-clad driver The Stig entertained spectators along the new 2.8km street circuit on Saturday.

Despite being known for his flippant comments and controversial opinions, Clarkson appeared excited to be back in the city.

He tweeted a picture of the stadium stating “The greatest stadium in the world. And our home for the next five days.”
