Tributes pour in for Annake de Villiers

Cape Town - Tributes for violinist Annake de Villiers have poured in from across the country after her body was found in her father's house near Steynsrus in the Free State.

The 35-year-old musician was found with one gunshot wound to the head just after 13:00 on Tuesday.  OFM reported that a gun was found near her body.

Captain Rulene Kühn said no note was found at the scene and the police do not suspect any foul play.

De Villiers' father confirmed that she committed suicide after a long battle with depression.

De Villiers was the ex-wife of opera singer Jannie Moolman. The pair announced their plans to divorce in 2010.
