Cape Town - Ed Sheeran and Kendall Jenner found themselves at the centre of a Twitter backlash after they appeared in Lil Dicky’s new music video for his track Freaky Friday in which he teams up with controversial singer Chris Brown.

In the video Lil Dicky, plays a regular guy who dreams of being a famous singer . . . like Chris Brown. He then swops bodies with the R&B star and later with the English singer and model.

The idea is based on the 2003 movie of the same name – starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis – in which a mom and daughter swap bodies, People reports.

However fans of Kendall were not happy, asking why the 22-year-old would work with Brown, someone who has a record of domestic assault. “Girl please don’t support an abuser,” one Twitter user wrote while another asked, “How is anyone still working with Chris Brown?!?!? Wtfff”

Chris was arrested in 2009 for physically assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna. In 2016 he was also accused of pulling a gun on a young female singer in his home.

Last year his ex-girlfriend, model Karrueche Tran, was also granted a five-year restraining order against him saying he was violent towards her, according to TMZ.

The Shape of Me singer was also taken to task with one Twitter user even saying they’ll remove the Brit from their music collection.
