Everything you need to know about Buhlebezwe Siwani's exhibition in Cape Town

Johannesburg - One of our favourite independent cultural platforms, ThatSkattie.com – in collaboration with WHATIFTHEWORLD Gallery in Cape Town – is hosting an exhibition of University of Cape Town master’s student Buhlebezwe Siwani’s work, in the latest and fifth Skattie Celebrates showcase by Sandiso Ngubane and Malibongwe Tyilo.

#Trending has featured Siwani’s great work before – most recently her exhibition called Imfihlo (a secret), which dealt with issues of spirituality and religion, femininity and colonialism. Siwani is a sangoma by profession, a feminist, as well as a multimedia artist who uses her many sides to produce provocative work that asks difficult and necessary questions about what it means to be in all of those places. Her work is incisive, layered and much needed.

What you need to know:

The exhibition runs at WHATIFTHEWORLD (1 Argyle St, Woodstock) until December 17.
